The Manhattans are one of those classic R & B vocal groups who manage to achieve incredible career longevity by adopting their style to fit changing times. Formed in the '60s, the Manhattans reinvented themselves as sweet, smooth, soul balladeers during the '70s. Under the leadership of Winfred "Blue" Lovett and front man Gerald Alston, the Manhattans survived as a viable chart act well into the '80's. The Manhattans are know for such R&B hits as the Grammy Award winning Pop and R&B hit, "Shinning Star" and others such as "Kiss and Say Goodbye", "We Never Danced to a Love Song", "There's No Me Without You", "It Feels Good To Be Loved So Bad", and many more.
